Allah Almighty says: “And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided for them of the good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference.” (Al Isra: 70) Our body and mind is a gift from Allah, He honored and distinguished us over many of his creation.
Therefore, we must maintain the health of our bodies at all times, especially in the holy month. Ramadan is supposed to provide us with health and charge our bodies with energy and strength. So avoid over-eating on Iftar and Suhoor so as not to increase the problems of the digestive system. Drink enough water and fluids to keep your body dehydrated and to avoid constipation.
Reduce as much as you can the consumption of fried foods and desserts to avoid weight gain and chronic illness. Do some light exercises such as walking to improve your fitness and health. Take a short nap in the afternoon, it increases your energy and vitality levels and helps you perform your prayers and worship and the night. Of course, make sure to eat the suhoor meal.
As the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Take Suhoor as there is a blessing in it.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari)
