After eating dates, drinking water, usually, we start with a dish of soup that softens and warms the stomach after a long day of fasting. The soup compensates fluids lost by the body and prepares the digestive system to absorb the whole meal. Eating the soup slowly gives a sense of satiety and prevent from overeating during the main meal and sweets. Which helps maintain a healthy weight.
After eating soup, it is preferable to take a break to pray or recite Qur’an or Say Dhikr. Make a delicious soup and a rich source of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and other nutrients by adding plenty of vegetables such as carrots, spinach, peas, squash, celery, and pumpkin to compensate the body with essential nutrients after a long time without food.
Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said that a tailor invited the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) to eat some food which he had prepared. Anas said, “I went with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, to eat the food. He served barley bread and soup with pumpkin in it. I saw the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, going after the pumpkin around the dish, so I have always liked pumpkin since that day.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari)
